Triggering an Eclipse
The steps to this main quest can only be done during an eclipse, to trigger an eclipse is simple. In the spawn room, once the power is turned on, four buttons will be spread out on the walls around Quick Revive.
All four players will need to interact with each button simultaneously. Once this is done time will begin to distort causing our Ultimus crew to be sent to the past, triggering an eclipse.
Important Note: An eclipse usually only lasts for around 3-5 minutes, if your eclipse ends during a step before completion, you can press the 4 buttons simultaneously again to trigger another eclipse. After every step completion, your eclipse should end signalling the completion of the step so be wary of that fact so you know if you have or haven't successfully completed a step.
Tiles Step
After triggering an eclipse, head to the room to the right of the spawn room (aka the minecart room), next to the MPL (Black Ops 1)/Phrao (Black Ops 3) wall buy, there will be another button similar to the ones in spawn that you can interact with and trigger some dialogue from Brock and Gary.
After the dialogue has ended, 24 tiles will appear on the map, 12 of which are in the room with the button you previously interacted with, and the other 12 are on the other side of the spawn room near the wooden bridge. You can find what these tiles look like below:
Each tile on one side is paired with a tile on the other, by standing on a pair both tiles will sink into the ground, the goal is to do this for all 12 pairs. To find a pair one person on either side needs to step on a tile, this will reveal a symbol on the tile. That player must then describe the symbol to a player on the other side and step off the tile.
The other player must then step on as many tiles on their side as they need to find the matching symbol, once the symbol is found, both players can stand on the pair of tiles to sink them into the ground. This must be repeated for all 12 pairs. Below is a list of all the symbols you'll encounter during this step:
reversed female gender symbol
Vertical line with 3 short lines crossing it
Lozenge Shape
Star that looks like an asterisk (*)
Crescent moon
Circle with a line through the center
Circle with a dot in the middle
Three dots arranged in a triangle shape
Triangle shape
Letter "D" shape
Letter "T" shape with a line through it
2 arcs crossing
Once all tiles have disappeared, a sound can be heard, a crystal will appear above the construction where you press the button to spawn the tiles, and the eclipse should end.
Water Slide Step
After triggering an eclipse, head over to the water slide. Three players must take this water slide and stand on the metal grate at the bottom of the slide. While those three players are standing on that metal grate, the fourth player must take the slide while holding down the interact button to activate a switch on the side of the slide.
If done successfully, the eclipse should end and some dialogue can be heard.
Crystal Step
After triggering an eclipse, head over to the water slide entrance, and on top of the entrance should be a crystal sphere that you need to take down using an explosive (Grenades, Ray Gun, etc...)
After knocking down this crystal, you must shoot it with the 31-79 JGb215 (baby gun) wonder weapon to shrink the crystal. Afterward, knife the crystal and it will go down the water slide and into a geyser that you can activate by standing on it, launching the crystal toward spawn onto a pedestal.
If done successfully, the eclipse should end and another crystal should spawn on a pedestal just above the mud room.
Gas Step
After triggering an eclipse, head to the tunnel just by the MPL (Black Ops 1)/Pharo (Black Ops 3) wall buy, and on the right side of the tunnel should be a red valve that you have to turn 4 times to trigger four gas leaks in the undergrounds of the map.
Now you must lure a Napalm Zombie to the four gas leaks to ignite them. The four gas leak locations are listed below:
Do not get too close to the napalm zombie when you find one. Getting to close to the napalm zombie will cause the zombie to explode and you will have to wait a couple of rounds for another one to spawn.
Once all four gas leaks are ignited, head back to the valve, and beside it is a lever that you have to interact with to complete the step. If done successfully, the eclipse should end and some dialogue can be heard.
Important Note: This step needs to be done during a single eclipse. If you run out of time or run out of gas, trigger another eclipse and repeat the steps above.
Holes Step
After triggering an eclipse, head to the tunnel near the wooden bridge that leads to the waterfall. In this tunnel, there will be 4 holes on the side of the wall three of which are marked by a blue light while the fourth is not.
You will need to use Spikemores (Black Ops 1)/Trip Mines (Black Ops 3) to fill these holes by placing them just in front of the holes and luring a zombie to them to trigger the mines.
Once the holes are filled, head to the bottom of the waterfall, and on one side of the boulder in the center will be a brick sticking out that you can interact with that says "Do not hold (insert interact button)".
If done successfully, the eclipse should end.
Panels Step
After triggering an eclipse, 12 panels will appear on the walls around the map that you need to knife to activate them. The locations of all 12 panels are as follows:
Once all 12 panels have been knifed and activated, head over to the minecart room, and just outside the map by the minecart will be a snare trap that you have to destroy using an explosive.
If done successfully, the eclipse should end.
Wheel Step
After triggering an eclipse, a radio will appear on a crate near the minecart that will give you the code "16 1 3 4". Head to the mud room, in this room, there are four wheels you can turn, one in each corner of the room where you will have to enter this code. The code is as follows:
If done successfully, the eclipse should end.
Important Note: This step is timed so you must be quick, if your eclipse ends before you have the chance to enter the code, simply trigger another eclipse and try again.
Gong Step
After triggering an eclipse, you need to go around the map knifing gongs, when you knife a gong your character will either react positively to the sound, and the crystal on the pedestal above the mud room will not be glowing red or your character will react negatively to the sound and the crystal will be glowing red.
You need to find four out of the eight gongs that have a positive sound and knife only those gongs in no particular order. The eight gong locations are as follows:
Once done, the crystals should be glowing yellow with a Treyarch symbol rotating around them. Afterward, you must use The Fractalizer (Pack-a-Punched 31-79 JGb215) to shoot any of the crystals while another player is standing under the crystal in the spawn room to catch some dynamite that will fall from the crystal.
If done successfully, the eclipse should end
If you fail to catch the dynamite or run out of time, trigger another eclipse to try again.
Final Step
After triggering an eclipse, shoot the crystal above the mud room with The Fractalizer (Pack-a-Punched 31-79 JGb215). The beam will bounce off the crystals and eventually hit the element 115 meteorite above the mud temple causing it to shrink into what is known as The Focusing Stone.
Open up the Pack-a-Punch area, head up the Pack-a-Punch stairs and you will find that instead of Pack-a-Punch you will see a brick wall and some dialogue will play. The player who caught the dynamite will need to place the dynamite in the wall's hole by interacting with it, head back down the steps, and wait for the wall to blow open.
Once open, the eclipse should end and you may need to re-activate Pack-a-Punch to head back up the stairs, in the blown open wall will be The Focusing Stone floating above an altar with the name RICHTOFEN written near the bottom. One player must interact with the focusing stone to complete the easter egg and receive perma perks (Black Ops 3 Only).
Congratulations! You have beaten the Shangri-La main quest: Time Travel Will Tell.
Important Note: (Black Ops 3 Only) Only the player who picks up the focusing stone will receive the perma perks, in order for the other players to receive the same reward you will have to do the main quest over in the same game again for each player and have a different player pick up the stone each time.
Repeating the quest
Upon completion, a radio will spawn at the bottom of the Pack-a-Punch staircase that you can interact with and hear some dialogue. Afterward, you will be able to go through the entire main quest again, the reason for this (story-wise) is that Brock and Gary are forever stuck in a time loop so they can never truly be freed by our heroes.
