Salvation Lies Above

The main quest for Tag Der Toten is called Salvation Lies Above. During this quest, our Victis crew assists Primis Nikolai in constructing the Agarthan Device to banish the entire multiverse into the Dark Aether closing the loop and resolving the paradox.

Requirements

This quest can be completed with any number of players. You'll need to obtain the following items to complete this quest fully:

While the Hellion Salvo and Zeus Cannon are not truly required for this main quest, we recommended getting these weapons as they are extrememly strong and will make this main quest a lot more enjoyable/achieveable. Keep in mind however, that you cannot hold two wonder weapons at a time, so hold off on obtaining the Zeus Cannon until after the step requiring the Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze.

Step 1: Ascend from Darkness

Before doing this step, you must have turned on power, and unlocked pack-a-punch

You must complete two hermit challenge totems by activating challenges from one of the five challenge totems in the Frozen Crevasse, Forecastle, Beach, Lighthouse, and Specimen Storage. Each totem has three challenges so this can take a while, and you should be working on obtaining the Dynamite Bomb, Samantha's Music Box, and Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze while doing them.

Turning on Power

You must activate three total power switches to activate the power on the map, the three power switches are located:

In the Docks (spawn)
In the Docks (spawn)
In the Bridge of the boat
In the Bridge of the boat
In the Human Infusion inside the Lab
In the Human Infusion inside the Lab

For the final power switch inside the lab, you'll need to access the lab by obtaining a Zipline Handle from Pablo. You'll need to find two cranks and use them to rotate two ziplines into the correct position for Pablo to give you the handle. The location of the cranks and their respective ziplines are:

Forecastle, used to turn the Main Deck zipline

Stern, used to turn the Sun Deck zipline
Stern, used to turn the Sun Deck zipline

There are three spawn location for each crank, but they are very close to each other and the cranks themselves are very noticable.

Once both are in position, you can head back to the Lighthouse Level 4 to receive the Zipline Handle from Pablo, and you can now travel to the lab and turn on that final power switch giving power to the map.

Unlocking Pack-a-Punch

Head to the Lighthouse Approach cave, and shoot or melee the blue rock to knock it down and interact with it to pick it up. Bring the blue rock to Lighthouse Level 4 and give it to Pablo and the lighthouse will begin spinning to show where Pack-a-Punch is located.

Accessing Golden Pack-a-Punch

Head to the Sun Deck and use the flinger to launch yourself to the Iceberg containing the Golden Pack-a-Punch. Remember that this Pack-a-Punch can only be used when the Lighthouse shines its light on the machine.

In co-op, all players must be standing on the flinger when the lighthouse is shining at the Golden Pack-a-Punch to get launched to the island.

Step 2: Knowledge is Power

After completing the two challenge totems, head to the Lighthouse Level 4 where Pablo will lower four colored dials that you must place on the walls in the Artifact Storage area near the Perk Machine. After placing the dials, turn each dial one by one until you hear a ding then move on to the next dial until all are done.

Before turning the dials, if you don't already have subtitles on you should turn them on now as once the dials are completed you'll immediately move onto the second step and the Apothicon Blood will begin saying quotes that you will need to remember.

Step 3: Acquire the Vessel

The Apothicon Blood will begin speaking and will eventually ask you to find three offerings, it will tell you where these three offerings are located by giving you a quote that corresponds with a location on the map. Below is an extensive list of all 20 possible quotes/locations for the three offerings:

Once you have found all three offerings, the Apothicon Blood will instruct you to find a Seal of Duality, and will give you a quote that corresponds to one of the four locations it can be in, these four quotes/locations are:

Once you are at the location, melee the object on the wall to reveal a safe and interact with the safe to place a Dynamite Bomb on the safe, blowing it open and revealing the Seal of Duality, which is the Vril Vessel for you to pick up.

Building the Dynamite Bomb

You must kill fire zombies with snowballs found around the map, each fire zombie killed will drop a part of the bomb, and once you have all three parts you can head to the workbench in the Gangway to build the Dynamite Bomb.

Step 4: Tame that which is Bonded

Head to the Artifact Storage area and place the Seal of Duality on the barrel underneath the Apothicon Blood and a red orb will begin moving around the room. You must shoot this orb three times with your weapon, and each time you shoot it, it will send a smaller orange orb somewhere on the map that you see the direction in which it was sent.

This step does spawn infinite zombies, so be aware of that if you wonder why endless zombies keep on spawning.

Once that is done, you'll need to find these three orbs that can be anywhere on the map, but are not hard to see, and if you saw the direction they flew in you'll have no trouble finding them. When you find one of these orbs, do not get too close to it or it will fly away, instead throw a snowball at it to freeze it turning it blue, then shoot it with your weapon to return it to the Artifact Storage.

Once all three orbs are back at the Artifact Storage, freeze and shoot them again to return them to the Seal and interact with the Seal to pick it up. Afterward, head to the Sunken Path place the Seal on the campfire, and throw a Samantha's Music Box at the campfire turning it blue and triggering some dialogue.

Obtaining the Samantha's Music Box

Head to the Decontamination and Specimen Storage areas of the lab and look for and pick up a Group 935 keycard found in each location, once found bring the keycards to the Security Lobby and place them inside the keycard reader.

Once completed, pick the keycards back up and place them into the keycard slots next to the giant vault door inside the Human Infusion room initiating a short lockdown that when completed opens the door revealing the Samantha's Music Box for you to claim.

Picking up snowballs after obtaining the Samantha's Music Box will temporarily take the place of the music box until you run out of snowballs so you don't have to worry about losing this item.

Step 5: Knowledge Itself is for the Taking

Head to the Lighthouse Level 4 where Pablo will lower two Soapstones for you, pick up these stones head to the Boathouse area, and place the stones down near the trap. Activate the lighthouse trap to heat the stones then interact with them to pick them back up.

Head to the Decontamination area of the Lab, place one of these stones underneath the Ice Trap, and place the other inside of the machine in the Human Infusion area. Turn the Ice Trap on to cool the stone underneath it then interact with it to pick it up and place it inside the machine next to the other stone in the Human Infusion area.

Once completed, a fuse will pop out of the machine that you must pick up and take to the original Ultimis door from the Call of the Dead main quest inside the Lighthouse Station and place it inside the fuse box.

Afterward, head back up to the Facility and shoot the red power boxes hanging on the electrical poles outside the map using the Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze. There is one to the left of the Facility Entrance and one to the right of the Loading Platform.

This is the only step that requires this weapon, so once you are done with this step, feel free to replace it with the Zeus Cannon as it is a much better weapon for this main quest.

Once the power boxes are destroyed, you must kill an Electrified Zombie next to three generators around the map, one at the Lighthouse Station on the upper platform, Lighthouse Approach near the MX9 wall buy, and one at the Boathouse near the trap switch.

Once completed, the fuse will be fully charged and you can head back to the Ultimis door at the Lighthouse Station and interact with the fuse box to open the door revealing the Elemental Shard for you to pick up and bring back to the Artifact Storage.

Obtaining the Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze

You must find and shoot the icicle that can be hanging in one of three areas around the map:

Beach, above the cave entrance
Beach, above the cave entrance
Lighthouse, hanging off of the Lighthouse itself
Lighthouse, hanging off of the Lighthouse itself
Lighthouse, hanging off the right side railing of the stairs leading up from the Lighthouse Station

Once you have the icicle, head to the Forecastle and place it inside the pot above the campfire to melt it down revealing a key that you must pick up. Head to the Specimen Storage, and use the key to open the safe containing the Vril Device and get kills around the device to charge it.

Once charged the Vril Device will glow green and can be taken to the Lighthouse Level 4 and handed to Pablo who will lower down another key which you can use to open the box just behind you to obtain the Wunderwaffe DG-Scharfschütze.

Step 6: Tame that Which is Merged

You must repeat the orb step from the Tame that which is Bonded step for a second time, once done take the Seal to the campfire and throw a Samantha's Music Box, turning the campfire blue and triggering some dialogue identical to the last time.

This step does spawn infinite zombies, so be aware of that if you wonder why endless zombies keep on spawning.

After the dialogue, pick up the Seal head to the Lighthouse Level 4, and hand the Seal to Pablo. This will start a 2-minute lockdown so make sure you are fully prepared before starting this lockdown. Once completed, a white flash will go off and you can pick the Seal back up from Pablo.

Before doing this step, make sure you are fully pack-a-punched and prepared because after this step you will no longer be able to Pack-a-Punch for the rest of the main quest.

Step 7: Empower Through the Machines of Angels

Look at the lighthouse to find the Pack-a-Punch. Once found head to the Pack-a-Punch, place the Seal of Duality inside, and kill zombies to charge the Seal. You must repeat this for all the Pack-a-Punch locations around the map.

Step 8: Tame that Which is Powered

After charging the Seal of Duality, head back to the Artifact Storage and place it back down on the barrel. You'll now need to repeat the orb step for a final time, but luckily this time the smaller orbs will stay inside the room and won't fly anywhere on the map.

This step does spawn infinite zombies, so be aware of that if you wonder why endless zombies keep on spawning.

Once the orbs are back in the Seal, bring it back to the campfire, throw a Samantha's Music Box, and listen to the remaining dialogue. Once the dialogue is complete, pick up the Seal of Duality and you are now ready for the "boss fight" of this main quest, so make sure you are fully prepared.

It isn't a boss fight and more of a moving lockdown, the Hellion Salvo and Zeus Cannon are highly recommended for this next step as it is easily the hardest step of this main quest, especially on solo.

Step 9: Salvation Lies Above

Head to the Sun Deck, and stand on the flinger to head to the Golden Pack-a-Punch area. Place the Seal of Duality inside the Pack-a-Punch and charge it with zombie souls. Once charged the Seal will float into the sky turn the map into lava and spawn a large bubble around itself which can protect you from the lava.

You must stay inside this bubble to avoid taking damage, when outside of this bubble you will continusouly take 10 damage per second until you return to the bubble. Talkin' Bout Regeneration will outheal this damage per second.

The Seal will first stop at the Main Deck and when it does, you must kill zombies to charge the seal and get it moving again, it will then stop at Lighthouse Cove where you must charge it again, and then the Lighthouse Station, and finally the Facility.

Remember the floor is lava so jump on the stones to avoid the lava when traversing through the water parts of the map. When moving to the Facility you will need to take the zipline which means you are going to take some damage while the Seal catches up with you, use your Level 3 Path of Sorrows ability to avoid the zombies chasing you so you can have time to heal.

Once the Seal stops at the Facility the bubble will begin to shrink until you can barely fit inside of it, this is very difficult to survive in and you should use all tools available to survive this part. If you have Stock Option or Free Fire, activate it and use your Zeus Cannon until you run out of ammo, then switch to the Hellion Salvo and spam the ground to survive this.

You cannot activate Stock Option with your Wonder Weapon out, so switch to your normal weapon before activating the elixir. Alternatively, if you are running Talkin' Bout Regeneration, you can completely ignore the bubble and activate the elixir and just run around the room.

Step 10: The Infinite

Once completed, no more zombies will spawn for the remainder of this main quest and you can pick up the Seal of Duality and return it to Pablo. Head to the Sun Deck and look toward the Lighthouse, the Lighthouse will shoot a beam into the sky opening a portal where Pablo will enter but will leave behind the Agarthan Device. Head to the Forecastle, and pick up the Agarthan Device to complete this main quest.
