Step 1: Ignite the Beacons
Activating the Sentinel Artifact
Head to the Amphitheater and interact with the Sentinel Artifact to activate it. This will cause Perseus the boss of this map to appear and summon three Spartoi that when killed via a body shot will resurrect after some time, so you must kill them via a headshot.
After killing the three Spartoi, normal zombies will begin to spawn. You must survive against them until Pegasus arrives to save you from the onslaught unleashing lightning strikes on the zombies and turning on the power for the map.
Unlocking Pack-a-Punch
You must find a Golden Bridle used to ride Pegasus to the Underworld where Pack-a-Punch is located. The Golden Bridle can spawn in one of two locations:
After grabbing this Golden Bridle a Gegenees will spawn that you can kill using the Scepter of Ra exploit or the Chakrams of Vengeance and pick up the shield part for the Apollo's Will. In the future, another effective way to kill the Gegenees is by shooting it's head with the Apollo's Will.
Once you have the Golden Bridle, head to the Spartan Monument where the Zeus Perk Statue is located and you will be able to stand inside a blue circle prompting you to "ride Pegasus", and interact with this circle to be taken to the Underworld.
Once in the Underworld make your way to Cliff Ruins and Python Pass and free the eagles by breaking open the cages with your Special Weapon. The cage in Python Pass will be suspended in the air via a chain that you can shoot with your weapon before using your Special Weapon.
Once freed, a Gegenees will spawn and the eagles will be circling around the Center of the World area in the Underworld. Head to this area to begin a lockdown where you must survive against an onslaught of Spartois and zombies. Once completed, Pack-a-Punch will be available and a teleporter will spawn that can take you back to the Overworld.
Before leaving the Underworld, it is recommended to build the Pegasus Strike since all three parts are located in this Underworld and is required for a later part of the main quest
Igniting the Beacons
Once all the prerequisites are done, the actual step involves completing trials until you turn the Eternal Flame in Apollo's Temple blue. The amount of trials you need to do varies depending on both the number of players in your game and the rarity at which the trials are claimed.
To complete this step the fastest here is what you need to do based on the amount of players in your game. Solo, turn in a Epic and Legendary trial to light the flame. Duo, turn in three Epic trials to light the flame. Trio, turn in four Epic trials and a Legendary to light the flame. Full Squad, turn in six Epic trials.
While you are working on these trials you should be obtaining the Redeemed Hand of Charon, Redeemed Hand of Gaia, Redeemed Hand of Hemera, and Redeemed Hand of Ouranos in that order as they will be needed for upcoming steps.
Once you have completed enough trials, the Eternal Flame will be lit and you can melee it with the Apollo's Will to light the spear on fire. Afterward, you need to melee three oil spills around the map to ignite them with the Eternal Flame completing this step:
While the spear is lit with the Eternal Flame it will drain your shield health periodically so be aware of your shields health and repair it if needed.
Building the Apollo's Will
There are three parts required to build the Apollo's Will, two of which have three spawn locations each.
The first part is the Handles, which can be found in the Upper Road part of the map:
The second part is the Spear, which can be found:
The final part is the Body, which can be obtained by killing a Gegenees after picking up the Golden Bridle when Unlocking Pack-a-Punch
Once all three parts have been collected you can build the Apollo's Will shield at the workbench in the Marketplace
Step 2: Look the Dead in the Eye
Head to the Spartan Monument, using the Redeemed Hand of Charon shoot a charged shot at the ground in front of the Zeus Perk Statue where the blue Pegasus circle used to be. Stand in the charged shot, look at the statues around you, and shoot an uncharged shot at the one with glowing blue eyes, repeat this for a total of four statues to complete this step.
Dormant Hand Locations
There are 20 different locations where a Dormant Hand can spawn, of which only four will contain a Dormant Hand (one for each redeemed hand). You can find where a Dormant Hand is located guaranteed by walking near the oracle in the spawn room who will give you a quote hinting at the location.
Make sure you have subtitles enabled in the game settings so you can read the quote easily instead of having to try and hear it over the natural game sound.
Below are the 20 different locations and the quote that corresponds to that location:
You must melee these spots to reveal the Dormant Hand.
Once you have found a Dormant Hand you can begin working on any of the four redeemed hands: Redeemed Hand of Charon, Redeemed Hand of Gaia, Redeemed Hand of Hemera, and Redeemed Hand of Ouranos. You will need to find a new Dormant Hand for each redeemed hand.
Importantly, you can only work on one hand at a time so if you already have a redeemed hand, you need to place it down at it's respective shrine to work on a different hand.
Obtaining the Redeemed Hand of Charon
Before obtaining a Hand you must have a Dormant Hand.
Head to the Python Pass in the Underworld and place the hand inside the Charon Shrine. This will being a lockdown that you must complete to be given the Fallen Hand of Charon.
Once you have the fallen hand, head to the River of Sorrow and get kills with the fallen hand while standing in the river in front of the Odin Perk Statue. Once you have gotten enough kills you will be able to "drinks from the River of Sorrow" by pressing you interact button.
Before drinking from the river, you should get down to a few zombies as drinking from the river will disable your health regeneration until you complete the step
After drinking from the river, you will be able to see a bunch of coins around the map. There are two types of coins "Charon's Obol" and "False Obol", you must collect three of Charon's Obols and bring them back to Charon's Shrine to summon a portal to "Prove Yourself to Charon".
Interact with the portal to begin a lockdown where you are granted the Redeemed Hand of Charon with infinite ammo and must kill everything around you to prove yourself to Charon. Once you have proven yourself you will be teleported back to the shrine with the Redeemed Hand of Charon obtained.
Step 3: Align the Citizens
You must destroy three walls around the map using any weapon to reveal three rotating cogs. You must throw a spear from the Apollo's Will at the smaller moving cog, when it is next to the larger still cog causing both the cogs to rotate in sync. The three wall locations are:
Once all three cogs have been put in sync, head to the Stoa of Athenians area where you will see three rotating statues. You must throw a spear at the big cog in the opening of the building behind the white crystal only when all three statues are about to face the white crystal, completing this step.
You can use the female statue holding the roses as a signal to throw the spear when she is facing to the right as in the above image. If you run out of spears to throw and you have Victorious Tortoise active, you can get the Eternal Flame on your shield to break it to avoid killing the zombie with Victorious Tortoise.
Step 4: Scepter and Sundial
Danu Symbols
Head to the Offering of the Attalids, using the Fallen Hand of Gaia you must shoot a symbol with branches on it located outside the map to the left of the Danu Perk Statue.
After shooting that symbol, two more symbols will spawn, one to the left of the Danu Perk Statue and the other above on the second floor. You must shoot them both at the same time, to achieve this place your crosshair like the image below and shoot with the hand. If only one projectile comes out of the hand shoot a follow-up shot and it should split into two projectiles.
If for some reason it doesn't work and you only hit one of the symbols, you will fail the step and need to start over from the first symbol.
Once those two symbols have been hit, three more symbols will spawn to the right of the Danu Perk Statue, one on the front of the building, one on the second floor of the building, and one on the small building in front of the Danu Perk Statue building. Again, you must shoot all three at the same time by placing your crosshair as in the image below, shooting an immediate follow-up shot if only one projectile comes out.
Once those three symbols have been hit, a Gegenees will spawn which you should not kill just yet. Lead the Gegenees to the Intersection of Treasuries near the Golden Bridle spawn pedestal, here there will be an item stuck inside the red crystal behind the pedestal.
You must free this item by baiting the Gegenees to do its shield blast attack by shooting its weak points and/or its shield. If you are standing close to the crystal when this attack goes off it should knock the item down for you to pick up and can now kill the Gegenees and pick up the Golden Pole he will drop when he dies.
The next two parts of this step can be done in any order and is completely personal preference on which part you want to do first.
Obtaining the Fallen Hand of Gaia
Before obtaining a Hand you must have a Dormant Hand.
Head to the Spartan Monument area and interact with the Gaia Shrine to begin a lockdown. This lockdown will spawn a barrier around the circle you are standing on and you must survive while within this barrier. Once the lockdown is complete you can turn around and pick up the Fallen Hand of Gaia.
Sundial Part
Head to the Offering of the Attalids and place the Golden Pole dropped by the Gegenees in the sundial on the ground revealing a yellow line on the sundial. Afterward, you must kill an Electric Catalyst zombie on the Sundial to activate it.
Activating the Sundial will reveal a rotating dial containing a blue symbol while the rest are orange. The goal is to interact with the Sundial when the blue symbol is on the slot with the yellow line. This must be done with three dials, with each dial rotating faster each time.
You must kill an Electric Catalyst zombie after each completed dial to open the next dial. If you fail you will see a white flash and will need to restart the Sundial part.
The simplest way to complete this is to count how many slots in the direction that the dials are rotating are in between the open slot and the yellow line slot and once the blue symbol has rotated out of the open slot count each rotation until you hit that number and interact with the dial.
For example, if the dials are rotating clockwise and the number of slots between the yellow line and open dial when rotating clockwise is three, once I see the blue symbol in the open slot every rotation after that I will count until I reach the number three and once I do immediately interact with the Sundial.
Once you have correctly aligned the three symbols with the yellow line the Golden Rod will sink into the Sundial completing this step.
Scepter Part (Defending Ra)
Head to the Gymnasium Bathhouse and place the item you freed from the crystal before the Sundial Part in the right hand of the Ra Perk Statue. After doing this Ra will raise his left hand and you must place the Redeemed Hand of Hemera in that hand.
Once you have placed the Redeemed Hand of Hemera in Ra's hand, he will start firing a beam into the wall and you must defend him for a full minute while Zombies, Spartois, and Blightfathers spawn to try and block the beam.
It is highly recommended that you obtain the Hellion Salvo and Homunculus from the Mystery Box as this will make this step very easy. Homunculus being the more important item as a single Homunculus will last for 20 seconds and you are given two of them, then you can use Equip Mint to replenish them and have the zombies distracted for the entire minute, only using the Hellion Salvo for the Blightfathers.
Once the lockdown is completed, a hole will be made in the wall Ra was beaming and inside you will find the Scepter of Ra (the actual one). Pick up the Scepter and return it to the Ra Perk Statue where he will then fire a beam at the pond completing this step.
Obtaining the Redeemed Hand of Hemera
Before obtaining a Hand you must have a Dormant Hand.
Head to the Monument of Craterus area and interact with the Hemera Shrine to begin a lockdown. Just like the Fallen Hand of Gaia you must survive within the barrier around the circle until the lockdown is over and can claim the Fallen Hand of Hemera once completed.
Once you have the Fallen Hand of Hemera you must find three mirrors around the map, adjust them to face the playable area of the map, and then shoot them with the Fallen Hand. The locations of these three mirrors are:
After shooting a mirror with the hand, if it is positioned correctly will cause the shot of the hand to land inside a bowl that you must melee with your Fallen Hand to carry that shot. You now have around 15 seconds to return that shot to the Hemera Shrine and melee the shrine to place the shot.
If you fail to place the shot into the shrine within the timeframe you will need to re-do the mirrors for only the shot that you failed to carry in time.
Once all three shots have been placed into the shrine a portal will spawn asking you to "Prove Yourself to Hemera". Interact with the portal and you will be given the Redeemend Hand of Hemera with unlimited ammo and must survive against the onslaught to prove yourself, claiming the Redeemend Hand of Hemera.
Step 5: Hit Your Marks
All players must head to the Amphitheater, once in the theater pull out your Hand wonder weapon and you'll find a colored circle matching the color of your Hand. Stand on that circle, you will get a white flash and another colored circle will spawn.
In co-op, there will be multiple colored circles on the ground, players must stand only in the circle that matches their Hands color when it is glowing.
Stand in that new colored circle and kill all the zombies emitting the same color as your Hand, using charged shots for the ground-level zombies, and uncharged shots for the zombies in the stands. Repeat this two more times until you get a gray screen where you must stand on the initial circle to begin the next phase of circles.
They are three total phases, each phase increasing the amount of circles up to 5 before a phase is completed. In co-op, it is possible for a hand to be excluded during a phase.
Once all phases are done, you will get a white flash, a Max Ammo, and a lot of points for completing this step.
Step 6: Cleanse the Center
Head to the River of Sorrow in the Underworld and near the Spitfire wall buy will be a door containing many symbols. You must shoot six of these symbols in the specific order in the image below, afterwards if you are playing as Shaw or Bruno you can interact with the door to see a mini-cutscene.
In co-op, if any of the players in the game are playing as Shaw or Bruno they must interact with this door to proceed with the step. If no one in the game is playing as Shaw or Bruno, you can continue on with the step without seeing the cutscene.
Now head to the top of the white stairs in the River of Sorrow to find a blue circle on the ground. You must place your Pegasus Strike on this blue circle causing Pegasus to fly down and raise a Ballista out of the ground beneath the stairs.
You must turn the Ballista using the charged shot of the Redeemed Hand of Ouranos. If done correctly, the Ballista will cock back ready to fire an arrow at the Python. Once the Ballista is ready, make sure you have a fresh shield and head to Apollo's Temple and melee the Eternal Flame with your shield out to ignite the spear. Afterward, with your shield out the entire time, run to the teleporter in the Stoa of the Athenians to take you next to the Acid Trap in the Underworld.
Finally, activate the Acid Trap, run through it with your shield out to turn the Eternal Flame green, and melee the Ballista's Arrow to fire the arrow at the Python completing this step.
Building the Pegasus Strike
The Pegasus Strike requires three parts each of which have three spawn locations, but all three parts are located in the Underworld.
The first part is the Prongs, which can be found in the River of Sorrow:
The second part is the Hammer, which can be found in the Python Pass:
The final part is the Anvil, which can be found in the Cliff Ruins:
Once all three parts have been collected you can build the Pegasus Strike in the forge room in the Cliff Ruins.
Obtaining the Redeemend Hand of Ouranos
Before obtaining a Hand you must have a Dormant Hand.
Head to the Center of the World and interact with the Ouranos Shrine to begin a lockdown. After completing the lockdown, pick up the Fallen Hand of Ouranos from the shrine.
Once you have the Fallen Hand of Ouranos, you must locate three giant arrows in the Underworld and shoot a normal zombie in front of these arrows to launch the zombie's body into the arrow releasing a floating feather that you must shoot twice with the Fallen Hand of Ouranos to get it back to the shrine.
The floating feather that comes out of the arrow near the Ouranos Shrine only needs to be shot once since it is the closest to the shrine.
The locations of the three giant arrows are:
After all three feathers have been returned to the shrine, a portal will spawn prompting you to "Prove Yourself to Oruanos". Interact with this portal to be given the Redeemed Hand of Ouranos with unlimited ammo while you survive against an onslaught to prove yourself. Once proven, you will be teleported back with the Redeemed Hand of Ouranos
Step 7: Boss Fight
Before entering the boss fight, be sure to swap out your Pegasus Strike with Homunculus from the Mystery Box as the Pegasus Strike will not work during the boss fight. Additionally, it is recommended to bring the Hellion Salvo as this will make the first part of this boss fight insanely easy.
When ready, head to the Center of the World and interact with the portal to be transported into the boss arena. This boss fight has two phases, in Phase 1 you will be fighting against Pegasus, and in Phase 2 you will be fighting against Perseus.
Phase 1
Pegasus will briefly fly over the arena and then disappear spawning a Gegenees you must kill for him to re-appear. You must shoot down Pegasus with any weapon to cause it to fall to the ground, and when it falls, you must damage it with your Special Weapon. Sometimes in this phase, Perseus will throw flaming spears on the arena which you can stand in to quickly charge your Special Weapon.
In co-op, you must visit all three islands and kill a Gegenees on each island for Pegasus to re-appear. The Hellion Salvo ideal for knocking Pegasus down and the Scepter of Ra exploit is ideal for damaging it once it is knocked down.
After around 10 seconds, Pegasus will begin to recover and when he flies back up will damage everyone on the island. At this point, everyone needs to get off the island and a Max Ammo and Carpenter will spawn on the other two islands. Repeat this cycle of knocking Pegasus down, damaging it, and getting off the island until enough damage has been dealt to move on to Phase 2
You will know when Phase 2 is starting when Perseus lets down his shield and says some quotes about Pegasus.
Phase 2
Perseus will now be the one you are fighting and will throw flaming spears onto the arena which you can use to charge your Special Weapon. After a while, he will teleport to the island and you must do a lot of damage to him until he kneels and turns orange.
If you don't do enough damage to Perseus when he teleports to the island he will go back to the mountain and unlease an attack that does a lot of damage if it hits you.
When he kneels, damage him as much as possible with either the Hellion Salvo or the Special Weapon since unlike Pegasus he can be damaged from all sources and once he is damaged enough he will return to the mountain. You must repeat this twice until he is defeated, completing this boss fight.
Congratulations! You have beaten the Ancient Evil main quest: Greek Tragedy
